Soho Youth Blueprint Project
Soho Youth Projects is a Birmingham city council youth service project which offers a range of activities for young people aged 11-19. As part of the blue print project young people learnt about mental health, looking at the some of the perceptions and stereotypes surrounding this subject matter. Young people were encouraged to look at their own cultures and to see where some of the prejudice attitudes they developed stemmed from. They then went on to discuss a variety of health topic of interest to them, issues which to them were heavily prevalent in their day to day lives. As a result of this work the young people decided to produce 5 posters which would raise awareness to their peers in the following areas:
- Healthy Eating
- Drugs
- Obesity
- Drugs
- Peer-Pressure
We translated their ideas and concepts into posters for an exhibition.
